Bulk Chemical Services, LLC announced today the acquisition of the assets of Waco Chemical Company, a subsidiary of Thiele Kaolin Company, Sandersville, GA. The purchase includes the Waco polyacrylate manufacturing plant in Sandersville, GA. In addition, the two companies have entered into a supply agreement for certain specialty chemicals supplied by the Sandersville plant. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Sam Smith, Thiele’s President, said, "This move will benefit and significantly strengthen the Waco chemical business and its employees. Bulk Chemical Services, LLC has the management and expertise necessary to grow the business in the future. We see this as a positive development for Thiele, BCS and the Sandersville community. Divesting WACO Chemical Company will assist Thiele in our efforts to focus on our core kaolin business and our goal of being the preferred supplier of kaolin for our customers."

Seth Spurlock, President, Bulk Chemical Services, LLC, explained "This acquisition will benefit BCS in a number of ways. It expands our sales coverage in the important kaolin market; providing better access to market our products and services. We will be able to offer new technologies and approaches to the market. Furthermore, the Sandersville plant is strategic for regional manufacturing. We feel customers appreciate the value, commitment and flexibility provided by having the Sandersville plant in middle Georgia.” Spurlock added, “We were particularly impressed with the caliber of the employees, all of whom will be joining us, and the potential for expanding the sales of these unique technology products."

Bulk Chemical Services, LLC is an Atlanta based specialty chemical and service company. The company manufactures products at two chemical sites located in Georgia. BCS is a supplier of sodium and ammonium polyacrylates, defoamers and water treatment polymers. In addition, BCS provides custom manufacturing and toll production services. The company supplies products and services to the chemical industry, mineral slurry and agricultural markets.
